ORANGE CHRISTMAS - lyrics ©2024 James Clark

‘Twas the night before the day full of clamour. Shoplifting gifts down at the Dollarama.

And lightening the loads of the sidewalk Santas.

The department store tree shone bright and impressive. It’s up all year long now, they’ve become quite aggressive.

But this body search is anything but festive.

Oh boy to the world what have I become when the red glow upon the dead lawn is turning our white Christmas orange?

I’m scheming up an orange Christmas

And I’m thinking to myself, Jesus baby won’t you please come home?

Tellers telling Santa what they wish from their lovers. He says you can’t buy love with cents and with dollars.

So I’m banking on them handing it over.

Now I really don’t mean any superficial harm. I’m only wrapped up in the artificial charm.

All is bright red, all is not calm.

Oh boy to the world what have I become when the red glow upon the dead lawn is turning our white Christmas orange?

I’m scheming up an orange Christmas,

And I’m thinking to myself, Jesus baby won’t you please come home?

They came upon a midnight clear and shackled me like a tiny reindeer,

And they heard me exclaim as we drove out of there.....

I’m scheming up an orange Christmas

And I’m thinking to myself, Jesus baby won’t you please come home?

I’m scheming up an orange Christmas

And I’m thinking to myself, Jesus baby won’t you please come home?

Fa la la la la la la la. Fa la la la la la la la.

I fought the law law law law law law. I fought the law law. Fa la la la la.
